Overnight work will pave the way for a better Old Town
City crews will apply a micro seal paving treatment in sections of Old Town next week as part of its Pavement Preservation program.
Work will take place overnight from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. April 7-9, on Marshall Way (Indian School Road to 3rd Avenue) and 6th Avenue (Scottsdale Road to Stetson Drive). These areas will be closed during construction.
The work means temporary closures, but major improvements. Expect a smoother ride and refreshed roadways once the work wraps up, with restriping following a few days later.
Area businesses are asked to inform employees, customers and vendors about next week’s closures.
Micro seal treatments help extend the life of asphalt streets and reduces maintenance costs. The city’s proactive Pavement Preservation program also includes street sweeping and ADA ramp construction. Work is funded by Scottsdale’s 0.20% Transportation Sales Tax.
Plan ahead, follow detours and get ready for a better Old Town experience. Questions? Call the project hotline at 623-582-1919.
