Overview
Scottsdale offers teens, ages 14-18, the opportunity to learn more about future careers in law enforcement at the Public Safety Teen Academy.
Details
The academy is offered 6:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., June 1-5, 2026, at the Hontz Training Center.
Scheduled activities include:
- Vehicular crime investigation
- Police riot control techniques
- Decision shooting scenarios
- Criminal investigations
- Tactical demonstrations
Applicants should be able to accomplish the following:
- Lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Drag 120 lbs. for 20 feet
- Perform moderate cardio exercise for 30 minutes
- Don heavy clothing and gear that might weigh as much as 65 lbs.
- Stoop, squat and crawl on knees
