The Maricopa County Elections Office completed its tabulation process.
Almost 89% of Scottsdale voters participated in the general election to decide key local races, including Scottsdale mayor, City Council seats and two city propositions. This is the city’s highest voter turnout in more than 40 years.
Based on the final unofficial election results from Maricopa County, Lisa Borowsky was elected to her first term as Scottsdale’s mayor. Adam Kwasman and Maryann McAllen have been elected to their first terms on the City Council. The three will take office in January 2025 alongside Jan Dubauskas, who was elected to her first term on the City Council during the July 2024 primary election.
Scottsdale voters also weighed in on two ballot measures.
Prop. 490, a 0.15% city sales tax rate that will go into effect July 1, 2025, was approved by 58.25% of Scottsdale voters.
This revenue will be used solely to fund improvements, maintenance, and protection of city parks and recreational facilities, and maintenance and protection of the McDowell Sonoran Preserve.
Scottsdale voters also approved Prop. 491 (66.15% voting yes), allowing the city to increase its state-imposed expenditure limitation baseline.
