Scottsdale Family Resource Center set to launch Little ReadER Book Club after generous donation

The Scottsdale Family Resource Center (SFRC) - located at Paiute Neighborhood Center and funded through First Things First, provides a variety of services to support families, parents, caregivers and expectant parents at no cost.

In honor of Scottsdale resident and community advocate, Edmond Richard, a group of friends made a generous donation on his behalf to the Scottsdale Family Resource Center to support youth education programs in south Scottsdale.

With this donation, the SFRC, in collaboration with the Scottsdale Public Library is creating the Little ReadER Book Club. Children along with their caregivers will join a seven-week program that will involve sharing and reading books as well as engaging in early-learning activities. Each child will leave with six new books for their home library, as well as a passion for reading.

There will be a small early literacy reception to welcome the Little ReadER Book Club from 9 - 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 23 at the Scottsdale Family Resource Center - 6535 E. Osborn Road, building 7. To learn more about the SFRC, visit ScottsdaleAZ.gov, search "Family Resource Center"
