Scottsdale invites residents and visitors to enjoy a variety of seasonal events

Fall and winter bring a lineup of exciting activities and traditions throughout Scottsdale. Whether you’re exploring art installations, cheering on your favorite teams, or celebrating the cooler temperatures with community festivities, plan ahead to experience these events from now through the end of the year.

Railfair | Oct. 4-5

The annual two-day celebration at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park features model railroad clubs, guest exhibitors, and interactive displays. This year coincides with the park’s 50th anniversary Golden Jubilee, highlighted by a recreation of the 1975 steam engine banner-breaking photo. Families and train enthusiasts alike can enjoy history, nostalgia, and rail-themed fun all weekend long.

Old Town Scottsdale Farmers Market | returns Oct. 4

The Old Town Scottsdale Farmers Market offers more than 100 local growers and specialty food vendors at 3806 N. Brown Ave. Shoppers can enjoy the market every Saturday from 8 a.m.-1 p.m.

Arizona Fall League baseball season | Oct. 6

The first pitch of the Arizona Fall League baseball season will happen under the lights at Scottsdale Stadium, 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, when the Peoria Javelinas visit the Scottsdale Scorpions. The Scorpions will host 15 home games during the fall season, and the stadium will also host the quarterfinal round of the season playoffs in November.

Halloween Spook-Track-ula | Oct. 10-31

Stop in for a spell as the Paradise & Pacific Railroad is transformed into a haunted park of fun for Scottsdale Parks & Recreation’s annual Halloween Spook-Track-ula at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park! This family-friendly event, featuring a spooky train ride, takes place nightly.

Spook-Track-ula concludes Oct. 31 with a free special trick-or-treating night in the park’s Desert Arboretum, where kids can collect sweet treats in a festive, safe, family-friendly setting from 4 to 9:30 p.m.

Barrett-Jackson Fall Auction | Oct. 15-18

The Barrett-Jackson Fall Auction returns to WestWorld, where guests can witness the high-energy bidding action, explore an impressive lineup of collector cars, and even bid on the vehicle of their dreams. The event also features celebrity appearances, a bustling Exhibitor Marketplace, and a wide variety of indoor and outdoor dining options.

Scottsdale Fall Festival | Oct. 18

The annual Scottsdale Fall Festival moves to Scottsdale Civic Center with free fun for all ages. Families can enjoy live music, a DJ, a magic show, carnival games, crafts, Trick-or-Treat Alley, a Pumpkin Patch, and more. New this year is a cocktail garden for adults, plus city department booths where residents can connect with staff. Costumes are encouraged but not required.

Scottsdale Dia de Los Muertos | Oct. 23-26

Take part in a time-honored tradition during Scottsdale Dia de Los Muertos at Scottsdale Civic Center. The festivities will feature a variety of events celebrated over four days, allowing visitors of all ages to engage in the rich cultural heritage of Dia de Los Muertos.

On Oct. 24, enjoy a special performance, “Danza de Los Muertos,” by the Huey-Colhuacan Folk Ballet Company, and on the 25th, observe the “Procession Desfile de Los Muertos,” as we honor the memories and lives of loved ones. What’s in my backyard? | Oct. 27

The first in a series of neighborhood outreach events created as part of the City Council’s 2025/26 priorities will be hosted from 5:30 – 7 p.m. at Fire Station 613 (26380 Hayden Road). Residents are invited to a relaxed community open house with food, kid-friendly activities, a fire station tour and the chance to talk one-on-one with city staff to learn about projects, services, and events happening in their neighborhood while connecting with friends and neighbors close to home. This is the first in a series of WIMBY neighborhood outreach events, each tailored to a specific area. Registration is requested.

Domestic Violence Awareness Trunk-or-Treat | Oct. 30

Join Scottsdale Police from 5 to 8 p.m. for the 2025 Domestic Violence Awareness Trunk-or-Treat at the McKellips District parking lot, 7601 E. McKellips Road. This free, family event offers children a safe and fun way to trick-or-treat while exploring decorated trunks and meeting police officers. Along with candy and costumes, the evening will also raise awareness about domestic violence prevention and community resources.

Canal Convergence | Nov. 7-16

Canal Convergence is back for its 14th year at the Scottsdale Waterfront, and this year’s theme is nothing short of spectacular: SHOWTIME! Experience an extraordinary lineup of light-based public art installations that transform the waterfront into a glowing stage of creativity. This year’s program will spotlight the “art” of performance through interactive artwork, workshops, tours, community activities, live music and dance.

Movie Night at Scottsdale Airport | Nov. 8

Scottsdale Airport is hosting its fourth movie night with a wonderful holiday classic – Home Alone.

This free event welcomes families and movie lovers to enjoy a unique, aviation-themed holiday experience. Gates open at 5 p.m., and the movie starts at 6 p.m. at Scottsdale Airport, 15000 N. Airport Drive. Guests are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs (seating won’t be provided). In addition to the movie magic, there will be food trucks and beer and wine available for purchase, a static plane display, and a fire truck presentation.

Considering the holiday season, Scottsdale Airport is asking each guest to bring a non-perishable item of food that will be donated to the Vista del Camino food bank.

Desert Dog Police K9 Trials & Public Safety Expo | Nov. 8-9

The Desert Dog Police K9 Trials & Public Safety Expo, hosted by the Arizona Law Enforcement Canine Association, also returns to WestWorld as the largest police K9 competition in the country. Fans can watch 70 K9 teams from across the U.S. compete in action-packed challenges like handler protection, apprehensions, narcotics and explosives detection, all simulating real-life law enforcement scenarios. This family-friendly event also features an indoor expo hall with over 150 vendors, interactive SWAT and aviation displays and public safety demonstrations.

Veterans Day Commemoration | Nov. 11

Scottsdale's Veterans Day Commemoration, which includes patriotic music from the Coast Guard Auxiliary Band, begins at 10:30 a.m. at the Civic Center Memorial Lawn.

The event is free but registration is requested for planning purposes.

Holiday Lights | Nov. 28-Dec. 30

Holiday Lights will take place 6-9:30 p.m. at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park. The park will be transformed into a festive winter wonderland featuring dazzling light displays and train rides aboard the Paradise & Pacific Railroad. With limited capacity to enhance the guest experience, this popular event offers residents and visitors a chance to enjoy Scottsdale’s holiday spirit and create lasting memories with family and friends.

Scottsdazzle | Nov. 29-Dec. 31

Scottsdazzle, the city’s month-long winter celebration, kicks off 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, with the Jingle & Jazz Tree Lighting Spectacular. Experience the West’s Most Western Town in a whole new way by discovering the best in dining, shopping and more than 45 incredible events.

Noon Year’s Eve | Dec. 31

Celebrate the new year early at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park’s Noon Year’s Eve, a festive countdown to noon filled with fun and excitement! Bring your friends, family, and neighbors as we welcome not only the new year, but also 50 years in our beloved community. The event is 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
