Instructions for Submitting Exhibits
Submit via Email
The preferred method for filing your exhibits with the Court is by Email.
Exhibit Cover Sheet:
Clearly indicate:
- Name
- Date of birth
- Case/Complaint #
- Date of hearing
- Label for each exhibit
If using the Exhibit Cover Sheet template, complete all fields on the form.
Exhibit Label Example:
- Exhibit 1 - Photo of car
- Exhibit 2 - Video of intersection
- Exhibit 3 - Police report
Exhibit File Types and Format Requirements:
- Each exhibit should be filed as a separate attachment and should be clearly labeled.
- Acceptable exhibits should be clear and legible
- Acceptable Document Formats: .bmp, .jpg, .png, .tif, .docx, .pdf
- Acceptable Audio/Video Formats: .mp3, .mp4, .wav, .avi
- Links are not accepted or accessed by Scottsdale City Court
Other submission methods
If you prefer to submit your exhibits by mail, fax or in person you may do so. USB Flash Drives, CD's and/or DVD's are not accessed by Scottsdale City Court. Unacceptable submissions will be returned to the sender or filer if identifiable. If the sender is not identifiable, the submissions will be deleted and/or destroyed.
Scottsdale City Court will attempt to separate and process the acceptable portions of the submission and return unacceptable portions. The Court will not test or attempt to remedy any issues with submitted exhibits. The exhibits will be held until the time of hearing. At the hearing the Judge may reference the submitted exhibits.
After the Court receives filing, it may take up to 7-10 business days to process. It is your responsibility to ensure that your submission was received by the Court. You may review the Court website to check if the Court has received, processed or check the status of your filing.

Print your document(s) and bring it to the court. The document drop box is in the Court lobby near security and the exit. Please use the date stamp machine on top of the drop box to date stamp the document and then place in the drop box.

Protective Orders
Petitions, motions, and requests for hearings may be filed at the court Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
Judges are available to hear the following from 8:30 a.m. - noon and 1:30 - 5 p.m.
- New Protective Order Petition Filings
- Injunction Against Harassment
- Injunction Against Workplace Harassment
- Plaintiff Motions to Quash or Modify a Protective Order
