Payment Options

If you are not sure of the violation charged or the fine due, you may look up your case or contact Court at 480-312-2442, Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Please be aware that the Court will open at 8:30 a.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of the month. Additionally, payments for fines will not be taken over the phone. To allow for data entry, please wait at least one week after the violation date before calling the Court.

• Online: We accept all major credit cards for payment.

  Find a Case/ Make a Payment

• In person: take a number from the ticket dispenser in the main lobby of the Court. A receipt will be provided for every payment made in person.
• Lobby drop-box: in the main court lobby, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday - Friday. We will accept payments by check, money order, or credit card in the drop box.
  This drop-box is not for cash payments.

Make your check or money order payable to Scottsdale City Court in the full amount due, and include the complaint and case number. Provide your current address if it is different from the address on the check.

You may pay by credit card online or complete the information on the bottom of the bond card. When completing the bond card please provide your credit card number and expiration date, sign the bond card, and mail it to the Court.

The Court accepts the following: American Express, Diners Club International, Discover, JCB, MasterCard and Visa

Payments in cash can only be made in person at the Court. Cash must be in U.S. currency. Coin over $5 must be wrapped with defendant’s name, case number and phone number.

If you are financially unable to meet your court ordered obligation on the day of sentencing, you may request a payment plan contract. You can apply for the payment plan by completing a payment plan request (PDF) and sending it back to the court for determination. You are only allowed one payment plan contract at any one time. There may be additional fees added to the total amount owed on the payment plan as follows:

1. Pay the state mandated $20.00 fee (per case) for payment plan in addition to your total obligation, A.R.S. §12-116.
2. Per SRC 9-7.4.e, a $15 contract administration fee will be added to any initial or modified payment agreement.

A defendant is not allowed more than a maximum of three payment plan contracts per case. Once a defendant has defaulted on three payment plan contracts on a particular case, additional contracts will not be allowed on that the same case.

Do not ignore your responsibility to pay the fines due to financial hardship as there are payment options available. If you do not pay in full or arrange for a payment plan, the Court may:

• Order you to appear in Court to explain your failure to comply with Court Orders to pay (for criminal and criminal traffic cases only).
• Add a $75.00 default fee to the amount you owe for each civil violation on your case.
• Notify the Arizona Department of Revenue to intercept your tax refund and Arizona Lottery, Fantasy Sports betting, and Event Wagering winnings. Interception efforts are done through the Debt Setoff (DSO) Program.
• Notify the Motor Vehicle Department who will place a hold on the defendant’s vehicle registration. Registration hold efforts are done through the Traffic Ticket Enforcement Assistance (TTEAP) Program.

• Refer your case to a collection agency, which will add additional fees to the balance owing. Collection efforts are done through the Fines/Fees and Restitution Enforcement (FARE) Program.

  Once a case is in FARE, the defendant is allowed one FARE Compliance Assistance Program (CAP) contract attempt.

The Compliance Assistance Program (CAP) is designed to assist you in getting your case back on track including reestablishing payment contracts, removal from collections, and satisfying your default status, in attempts to get your driver license reinstated by ADOT – MVD.

How does CAP Work?

1. Come to the court and talk to a clerk about CAP.
2. Complete the required financial questionnaire.
3. Pay the initial down payment.
4. Sign the payment plan request.

What if I don’t have the money to pay the initial down payment?

Depending on your financial economic status, you may be eligible for a reduced down payment.

What do I have to do to get my driver license reinstated?

You must apply to the Arizona MVD to get your driver license. If you are participating in CAP, outstanding fines previously owed to the Scottsdale City Court will no longer be the basis of a license suspension. However, if MVD indicates there are other reasons for a license suspension, you will need to work with them to resolve any other issues.
