Lithium-Ion Batteries can be found in all types of electronic devices including cell phones, laptops and Electric Vehicles, etc.
Always follow the manufacturer's instructions. Only use the battery and charging cord that is designed for the device. Do not charge devices under your pillow, on your bed or couch. Keep batteries at room temperature and away from anything that can catch fire.
Lithium-ion batteries in electric cars can lead to intense fires, with the risk of “thermal runaway.” This makes them more challenging to address.
Fire Extinguishers do not work on lithium-Ion battery fires. If you observe a lithium-ion battery fire, leave the area, close the door and call 911.
