Overview
The Scottsdale Police Department Cadet program provides an opportunity for young men and women between the ages of 14 and 21 to work alongside, train with, and assist police personnel. The Cadets receive specialized law enforcement training, attend weekly meetings and volunteer to perform important community services. Along the way, they learn to work as a team, they gain leadership skills, and they serve the community.
Cadets participate in many aspects of police work but are not placed in dangerous situations
You can become a Scottsdale Police Cadet by meeting the following requirements:
- Age 14 to 21 years of age
- Maintain a 2.0 (C) grade point average in all high school grade reports through the 12th grade
- Have no serious arrests or convictions
- Pass a background investigation
- Pass an oral interview
- Have outstanding ethical and moral standards
- Demonstrate a willingness to serve and participate in Cadet activities
