Frequently Asked Questions

I'm new! What do I do first?

We always recommend you setup your account prior to registration day. You can create a new account online 24/7!

When does registration begin?

Registration begins at 8 a.m. on the advertised date.

I didn't receive a receipt for my registration. What do I do?

You will need to update your account email address by calling the Leisure Education Office at 480-312-7957.

What secure payment options do you offer?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, and Discover

What is your refund policy?

Unless otherwise stated, all program refunds shall be prorated, less a $10 processing fee, up to and including the second class. No refunds after the second class date. Classes priced at $10 or less are non-refundable.

Will a class be cancelled if there are not enough people registered?

Yes, each class has a minimum and maximum enrollment. Classes will be cancelled a week prior to start if minimum enrollment is not met.

What if I don't like my class?

Your satisfaction is guaranteed. We want to provide quality programs to all participants. If after attending the first day of your program, you are not happy with the quality, call us right away, 480-312-7957. Tell us what was wrong so we can make it right!

Why are there age requirements?

Age requirements have been established to safely facilitate age appropriate classes. Participants must be of the appropriate age by the first day of class in order to register. Proof of age may be required for programs. If your child’s swim skill level is not within the advertised age range, please contact the aquatic facility for age override options. Sorry, no other age override exceptions.

I found an error in the brochure. What should I do?

Although staff makes every effort to ensure each issue of the Recreation Classes & Programs Brochure is free from errors, there are times when errors or revisions in dates, times, fees, or instructors do occur. We recommend that you check the city’s website for up-to-date information. We appreciate your patience and understanding when these situations occur.

Do you have a photo policy?

Please be advised that all participants involved in any department programs or special events are subject to being photographed. Such photographs may be used by the City of Scottsdale without an obligation to provide compensation to those photographed.

How do I know if I'm a Scottsdale resident?

Residents are citizens who live in or own property within the City of Scottsdale’s corporate boundaries, and pay taxes to the City of Scottsdale. Not all Scottsdale mailing addresses meet these criteria. Individuals residing outside of the City of Scottsdale and attending Scottsdale schools are considered Non-Scottsdale Residents. A PO Box is not considered a Scottsdale residential address. You can check you residency status using the city's online map.

Can you accommodate someone with special needs?

Yes, Scottsdale’s Community Services Division is committed to supporting the full inclusion of persons with disabilities into all public facilities, programs, and activities. If you need assistance to access these programs, please indicate your needs on the registration form and contact Adapted Recreation Services at 480-312-2234. All requests must be made after completing your registration and be requested a minimum of 14 business days prior to the starting date of the program.
