9/11 Day of Remembrance

Thank you to those who joined us for the 9/11 Memorial activities this year.

The city of Scottsdale commemorated the 25th anniversary of the attacks of 9/11 with displays at Scottsdale libraries and the Police and Fire Headquarters.

The exhibition featured supersized props of the Twin Towers, Pentagon, plane wing and large metal flag – made of steel, brass and polycarbonate. These specially-built models displayed a memorial card of every individual who lost their life on Sept. 11, in the attacks.

The piece of steel from the World Trade Center is on permanent display in the lobby of the Police and Fire Headquarters, 8401 E. Indian School Road.

We presented a solemn Reading of the Names of the Fallen on the lawn of the Scottsdale Center of the Performing Arts on Sept. 11. Additionally, there were also special classes in recognition of Emergency Preparedness month at each of the libraries throughout September.

If you would like to have a copy of the commemorative booklet, please email us your contact information.

We would also appreciate if you share your memories of the attacks of 9/11.

Remember to Share your Memories with us!
