Guiding is allowed in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve with a permit. Guiding includes planned and organized efforts to lead individuals or groups, or otherwise provide services including but not limited to wayfinding, managing itineraries, giving interpretive information, or providing specialized gear, and with any form of compensation required, requested, or accepted.

Upon approval of an application, a permit fee of $150 must be paid, plus pre-paid use days equal to $5 per client and a $10 Administrative Fee. Permits will be valid from Aug. 1 to July 31. Please read the Preserve's Guidelines for Guiding Permits (PDF) for more information.
