Residential Grass Removal Rebate Closed on October 31, 2024
This rebate received extraordinary participation this program year. Scottsdale Water is excited residents are converting grass to an Arizona-friendly landscape. This rebate will reopen next season (May 2025). During the winter months, Bermuda grass is dormant, making it difficult to properly remove.
How to care for your dormant grass during the winter months
Dormant Bermuda requires minimal water - only about ½” of water per month to keep the stolon (lower part of grass stem) from drying out. When weather warms again, Bermuda comes out of dormancy, making it an opportune time to remove it. Grass must be maintained even if a rebate is planned.
Do not begin your grass removal project until your application is submitted, and you’ve received a Notice to Proceed from the city. Applications will become available in May 2025. Scottsdale Water cannot guarantee rebate requirements, eligibility, or the grass removal rebate amount until rebate launch.
