Project Information
Construction will begin in mid-July on improvements to 68th St. between Indian School and Camelback roads. Major construction work will be completed in mid-December with final adjustments to the project taking place in January.
Sidewalks will be built on both sides of 68th St. to fill a gap in pedestrian accessibility and improve safety along this corridor. The project will include asphalt improvements and the replacement of streetlights with new LED fixtures. Construction work will also upgrade the storm drain infrastructure under the roadway.
This project was created in response to a citizen request and was added to the city’s capital improvement plan by the City Council.
Construction Information
Work will predominately take place Monday – Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. Occasional night and weekend work may be needed. Traffic restrictions will be in place during working hours and will change throughout the project as work progresses.
All homeowners who live directly on 68th Street will be contacted before work takes place in front of their homes. In general, work will begin on the east side of 68th Street to build both the storm drain and the sidewalk improvements and then move the west side of the street.
Potholing and investigative work will begin the week of July 13. Construction activity and traffic restrictions will begin the week of July 20.
